Work Description

Her Kitchen is an interactive installation that conveys the authentic life experiences of six Chinese women, each representing different generations. The installation incorporates touch sound devices within the work, allowing individuals to listen to the stories of these women by interacting with the corresponding food containers. Within each container, a zine can be found, offering readers the opportunity to delve deeper into each woman's life journey. The design of the zine draws inspiration from a dish that holds profound significance in each woman's life. Additionally, the choice of materials for crafting the zine is inspired by rags, symbolising their utility in cleaning kitchen stains while acknowledging their inability to erase the trials endured by these women.
