Work Description

The design takes inspiration from the creased and fractured backing paper utilised in the lace-making process. By employing the macro imagery of creased lines and punctures formed by needles, she aims to draw attention to the overlooked backing paper and its significance. Simultaneously, the abstract pattern serves as a symbol of the powerful surge of the Qiantang River, originating from her hometown, as it engulfs the sandy landscape.
